The latest in game in Alice 2.0
Kryotech is proud to announce the completion of it’s latest game from Alice 2.0. We have named it Warzone: Georgian Front. We have used all of our latest techniques (most of which we’ve already posted on this blog) to create this game.
This game uses a new AI, that can sense how many allies are left and how badly it is damaged to retreat. This AI also tries to flank you and makes sure that you can’t flank it.
The physics are the same as always, and there is collision detection, so it has worked out fine so far. This is still the first version of the game, and it is still being debugged and we still need to add the voice acting to the game. As we mentioned in the picture above, this game takes place in the conflict between Georgia and Russia. That’s the realistic part. Now we come to the fictional part. In this game, you start off in a Georgian counter attack on a Russian posisition. Thing is, you’re the only one in the counter attack, against four Russian tanks. We do plan to make videos depicting what happened after the game level here (of course, there is cinematic footage in the game).

The Georgians mount a counterattack, but the problem is, you're the only one in it against four Russian tanks
We’ve designed this game to make it run smoothly and still have the best AI we’ve made in Alice so far.
Although it only has four enemy tanks in game, it still is hard to beat. Our tests have showed that it really isn’t that easy to beat an AI that tries to flank the player as quickly as possible. We will have more screen shots and AI posts very soon. We also plan to make another game like this on a larger scale.

I’m really impressed that you managed to use Alice to make a game. I thought at first that it lacked the computing power to create smart AI, or any game components at all, for that matter. After all, it wasn’t made for game design, so using it for something it’s not supposed to do is a really tough thing to do.
Anyway, congratulations on creating this game.

This is neat I was just searching screen shots of Alice for a project I’m doing in school and we have to make a game on either Alice or Turing which makes this really remarkable because I don’t think theirs anyone in my class making an actual game with AI and voice acting.. impressive.

We did our best with the limitations in Alice, and this is what we got. The AI works well, so if you want to use our freely posted research for your project, by all means, go ahead. Just remember us when you use our components.

Hey, I was wondering if there was any chance you could send me this game. I recently created a very mediocre game in Alice for my CS class and I wanted to analyze how this game was made. Thanks!

All of the code used to make the game is posted on our site. We do not offer our game freely to anyone. We do plan to have a demo for it eventually. You can easily improve your own game using our free code.

What sort of examples do you need? We could send you early AI and physics tests. By early examples, you mean the beta or alpha version of the game? Just leave your specications here, and we will get back to you.

We are sorry that we could not help you with the beta version of our game. When our website goes up, you will be able to play the game.

If you would please post some example code, that would be great. When do you plan on your website going up?

Hopefully, the website will be up soon. We are hoping for it to be up some time in April. We are always being set back by something or the other. As for the example code, what do you need examples of? We may be able to send those examples to you. If you need example code of AI or physics, it is already up. Search this blog for what you need. If you want to see the AI in action, we do have some older playable tests that you may be able to view. We can send those to you. If you have anything else specific that you wish to know, just tell us, and we will see if we can help you with it.
